New to the Udemy platform?
Please review these important notes before starting the course!
NOTE: Platform-related issues like blurry video or missing audio are out of our control. Please check your connection, adjust the resolution (see #4 below), and contact [email protected] to report the issue. All videos should be crystal clear!
1) Course Player + Q&A Forum
You can access the course by logging into Udemy and clicking “My Learning” in the top right corner. When you launch the course you’ll see the video player and course curriculum, along with the following tabs below:
-
Overview: View course details and full description
-
Q&A Forum: Browse answers or post a new question
-
Notes: Take notes & bookmark key points within course videos
-
Announcements: View public messages from the instructor
NOTE: If you get stuck, please search the Q&A forum first, as many questions have already been answered there. For tips on using the Q&A tool, check out this article.
2) Resource Files
In most cases, all resource files are available in the first section of the course (look for the DOWNLOAD: Course Resources lecture). If resources are available elsewhere, you will see a folder icon in the curriculum shown to the right of the video player. Simply click to expand the folder, and click each file to download (if you have issues, try using a different browser, or right-click to open the download link in a new tab).
3) Ratings & Reviews
You may submit or update your rating at any point from the “My Learning” view, by clicking the stars or the “Leave a rating” link beneath the progress bar. You will also be automatically prompted to leave feedback at several points throughout the course. Reviews are extremely important to us, and help us create the best content possible!
NOTE: Udemy may prompt you very early in the course; please keep in mind that this is out of our control, so feel free to discard the prompt until you are ready to leave a rating
4) Video Controls
The video player includes several options to help you customize your viewing experience:
-
Video Speed: Click the “1x” in the left corner to change the audio/video speed (ranging from 0.5x to 2x)
-
Resolution: Click the gear icon to access settings, where you can adjust resolution or report technical issues
-
Transcripts: Click “Transcript” or “Captions” in the lower right to view transcripts or captions
-
Notes: Click the “Add Note” button in the lower left to add notes and bookmark a specific point in the video
NOTE: If you experience technical issues (blurry image, missing audio, etc.), check your internet connection and try manually selecting a resolution (ideally 720p or 1080p) instead of using the “Auto” setting. If you continue to experience problems, click “Report an Issue” (using the gear icon) or e-mail [email protected]
5) Certificate of Completion
Once you’ve completed every single lesson in the course, you can click the trophy icon in the top-right corner of the course player to download your certificate of completion. Then give yourself a hearty pat on the back — you deserve it!
NOTE: If you aren’t able to claim your certificate, make sure every single box in the course curriculum is checked (including quizzes and text lessons). To learn more about course completion certificates, please check out this article
